Rated as one of the Best Public Golf Course in Scotland (after St Andrews) and within the Top 100 Golf Courses in the UK, Braid Hills has two municipal golf courses but the flagship No. 1 course is the one with the accolades and is undoubtedly one of the most challenging courses around.

The Heathland course was laid out in 1983 by Bob Ferguson and Peter McEwan and although less than 6,000 yards off the back tees, the proliferateion of gorse and the sloping lies mean the course is definitely one which rewards positional golf and penalises wayward shots.

Visitors are welcome but Braid Hills is a very popular course because of the challenge and the cost (less than £15) so advance booking is recommended. contact club to make arrangements
