Originally, Childwall Golf Club was known as Woolton Hall Golf Club, a nine hole course formed in 1913. The Club moved in 1922 to Childwall Hall and finally in 1938 to the present site at Gateacre. Childwall, a testing 6470 yard parkland course, presents a very tough test of Golf and can match any course in the area. The course is not undulating and is very pleasant to walk. However, some holes do rise and this can affect the run of the ball. The lovely Clubhouse was designed by Alderman Shennan in 1938. It is an extremely attractive building with excellent facilities and a friendly, hospitable atmosphere. Visitors are always welcome.
