Description
Fulford Golf Club lies approximately 1 mile south of the historical city of York.

The course is built predominantly on sandy heathland which sustains an ideal surface for golf. The ridges on the first fairway are rigg and furrow plough tracks, a reminder of the pre-Norman land used and a part of York's amazing cultural heritage.

Fulford Golf Club has hosted many major Amateur tournaments and internationals since 1954 when it hosted its first Yorkshire County Championship. The club has hosted a wealth of professional tournaments, including the Benson & Hedges International and the Murphys Cup.

"Major" winners Seve Ballasteros, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle, Tony Jacklin and Ian Woosnam have all been tournament winners at Fulford.

A reputation for the best greens on the European Tour also attracted players of the standing of Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Tom Weiskopf, Gary Player and Billy Casper and legends of the game like

Sam Snead and Tommy Bolt.

One of the most enduring images in golf must be Bernhard Langer clambering up the Ash by the seventeenth to play his third shot to the green. Testimony to the German's determination to fight for every shot! To this day, his feat is marked by a plaque on the same tree.

Fulford is a friendly club which welcomes visitors of all standards.
