Indian Wells Golf Course opened 1984 and is a veteran member of the "Myrtle Beach Dream 18" (the 18th, a 385-yard par 4, is regarded as one of the best, and toughest, holes in Myrtle Beach).
Designed by Gene Hamm, the 18-hole, par 72 course course plays 6,624 yards off the back tees for a course rating of 71.9 with a slope of 125. Not a particularly difficult golf course, more of a 'shotmaker's' course, but it certainly has more than enough hazards to make for an interesting round of golf.
It has fairways of bermuda grass and TiftEagle greens.
The course is golf buggy only (no walking).
Indian Wells Golf Club was the recipient of the 2004 Golf Course of the Year Award by the Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course Owners Association. In addition the golf staff received the prestigious Customer Service and Hospitality Award by the Myrtle Beach Golfing News.
The clubhouse has recently been completely remodelled and upgraded.
