Kingsknowe golf club, situated to the west of Edinburgh, was originally designed by Alec Herd, the 1902 Open champion and was later redesigned by James Braid. The pretty parkland course is laid out over and through the valleys of gently rolling hills on which Oliver Cromwells army gathered to bombard Redhall Castle in 1650. With relatively small and well guarded greens the course offers several tough dogleg par fours with the feature hole coming at the 460-yard par four sixteenth. This course provides a varied and interesting challenge for all level of golfer and visitors are always welcome.
