Lothianburn Golf Club, designed by that most famous of golf Architects, James Braid, is a hilly track which mixes elements of moorland and parkland.
Originally designed as a 9 hole course in 1892 James Braid was commissioned to extend and remodel the course in 1929. The result is largely still in evidence today. The course is set at the foot of the Pentlan Hills and rises from the clubhouse some 300ft to its highest point at the 13th green.
The course is noted for its excellent greens, and challenging holes include the 5th, where one drives for position in order to pitch at almost right angles to a plateau green.
A friendly club, visitors are welcome, contact club to make arrangements.
