The Merchants of Edinburgh Golf Course, originally designed by ben Sayers but substantially altered by James Braid in 1936, is parkland in nature and set on and between two hills. This position gives the course its fine mix of holes and its lovely views across Edinburgh, East Lothian, West Lothian and Fife.
Although only 5,000 yards long and with very friendly 'rough' the course demands good short iron play if you are to score well.
