Description

Peover Golf Club is a challenging eighteen hole par 72 parkland course, measuring 6702 yards off the back tees covering 165 acres of varied terrain and is now considered one of the country's sternest tests for any golfer. The course is situated in picturesque surroundings where the course and its fairways make the most of their natural features without exploiting them. The ponds and the Peover Eye River that runs through the course are havens for wildlife, but attractive as they are, they have no respect for the wayward drive or that misplaced approach shot. The tees and the greens have been positioned to maximise the benefits of the natural contours of the land. There is an excellent mix of holes varying in design and character with many doglegs and water hazards including the Peover Eye River which three of the fairways cross, including the first, so there's no relaxing from the offset. These credentials make Peover Golf Club one of the most exciting and sternest tests for any golfer seeking a real appreciation of their abilities. Visitors are always welcome.

nice flat course and a good test

I did enjoy the course however on the day they asked for us to use the Winter trollies, ie with the nobbly tyres. I was a bit disappointed to then see big tractor tracks all over the Fairways? Dont think my trolley would have done that sort of damage!
Also we had to go down the road to the Local Pub to get a drink after the game because there was a Wedding on - are there no seperate facilities for visitors or members?

Quirky course full of doglegs

..and almost all of them left to right. It needs good club selection to find the corners, meaning not always the driver out at the tee. Greens were very slow and had appreciable moss on them. Plenty of bunkers to trap you and watch out for that river coming into play. 18th seems to be everyones favourite though the 19th gets my vote.
