Stunning views over the sea & inviting challenges. Loved it....

One of the highlight of my holiday in Brittany/Loire Atlantique/Normandy .

A course that has been on my list for the last 10 years, I heard so much praises from Mr L. who plays Pleneuf Val Andre twice a year ...... I was not disappointed as we chose a beautiful warm sunny Autumn day for my experience.

A steep hill leading to the golf club Clubhouse means that you are on a sort of a cliff: stunning views over Pleneuf Val Andre, the last 9 holes are incredibly beautiful & reminded me of Sperone Golf course (only 18 holes course in Corsica) , teeing high on the cliffs with the sea on your side, ome high hills on the other side, the 11th is the most memorable, most likely the signature hole, with miles of sandy beach, and a small port in the back ground. Picture taking is a must .

The course is very interesting, each hole will challenge either a 3 or a 54 handicapper, always better to play with a Member as we did (thank you Nicholas) or someone that knows the course well (Mr L.). Some wide fairways with gentle slopes, fantastic greens, and well sanded, deep bunkers, quite numerous. The 1st nines are more inland as opposed to the back nines by the sea. The wind can affect your game but today (5.10.2018), we were blessed with clement weather, sun & warmth 23 degrees C.

The hot Summer had affected the general condition of the course but it is recovering well. The greens did not seem to have suffered at all.

The course is walkable despite the climbs but a buggy may be advisable if you are not fit. The numerous dog legs (11) are quite long with lots of bunkers. The Par 3s vary in length from 98 metres to 155. There is a large pond that comes into play on holes 14th & 17th, during our round the layout was slightly different as the pond liner was being changed.

Very pleasant Clubhouse, modern, light with local beers/cider and nice food at fairly reasonable prices. Large terrace overlooking the golf course on one side and the sea on the other, a friendly resident cat will gladly sit with you...

Well stocked Proshop and gorgeous Ladies clothings & accessories.

Friendly reception and members.

Modern changing rooms on the ground floor with Visitors lockers (Judy would be pleased !).

Excellent practice facilities by the 1st tee, and the practice green is exactly as what you will find on the course.

Large Car Park.

Although we played in October, we still payed the Summer rate but well worth it.

A course I would love to play again and again and I highly recommend it should you be in Brittany, as a very short distance from the Port of St Malo. Cross over night, get a cabin, arrived all refreshed in the morning, and drive off to your golf at Pleneuf Val Andre (Cote D'Armor, Brittany).

I forgot to say that the golf course is part of a group called Blue Green who operates lots of nice courses all over France & Europe.

I also discovered that Blue Green have an exclusive new App "EGULLPAY" whereby one only pays for the holes played, be it 5, 6, 7 or whatever number you have time for......

THE END.........
