Description
Sene Valley Golf Club was founded in 1888 by a group of London Commuters on land leased from Lord Radnor on, what was then, land on the outskirts of the town. (now occupied by the Lynwood Estate). The course which adjoined Shornecliffe Army Camp, was requisitioned by the Army in both wars and received significant damage in the second, to such an extent that there was no driving force at the end of the war to restore it. As a result the club died. In 1965 The Radnor Estate purchased the site of the former Hythe Golf Course and engaged Henry Cotton to design a new course using the bones of the old course as a starter. As a result of these investments Sene Valley is one of the most picturesque golf course locations in Kent, indeed perhaps in the Country. Our most prized and valuable asset is our golf course. A large proportion of our money is spent on keeping the course up to scratch and making it enjoyable for members and visitors to play.

Good course

Very nice course and greens in good condition. Very hilly and quite tiring towards the end. Some challenging holes but very enjoyable and worth a visit.

Great glimpses of the channel in the garden of England

Sene Valley is a smashing little course, easy to find just off the M20. The club house is small but the staff are very friendly. Smashing breakfast for £4.50. Buggy hire price was £30 which I felt was a bit excessive?
The course is like many in this area boasting sunken greens. So laser scopes are useless on this course. If you don't know the pin position approaching the green is a bit of a lottery. The greens were in very good order as were the fairways. Playing into the low sun on the back nine made approaches very tough indeed. The temperature was a barmy 20 degrees it was mad for February. I do hope to play Sene Valley again, highly recommend it!

Fantastic course in great condition

A fantastic course with a wide variety of holes many self contained with far reaching views across the south coast and the channel.

Course was in great condition and we were made to feel very welcome.

Friendly and well maintained....

Played here on a friends golf day and really enjoyed the course! Perched on the top of Sene Valley over-looking the English Channel in some beautiful natural countryside, the course starts with some straight forward holes but then meanders through the terrain with some testing holes that require some thought.

Not overly long, the course does however require some good club selection as the rough has been grown up recently to test the members guile. The greens were in fantastic condition and the course is clearly looked after and loved by the locals.

The clubhouse is light and airy, with polite staff. My only comment is that £30 mid-week and £40 at weekend this may stretch a few budgets given the location... However, will definitely go back!
