Description
Featured in "Top 100 Golf Courses of England", Tandridge is a members' golf club where the traditions of the game are respected to the full both on and off the course (jacket and tie expected in the bar and restaurant).

The first nine are comparatively flat whilst the second are sited in much more undulating terrain. Strategically placed bunkers call for accuracy from the tee, plateau greens make for demanding approach shots whilst subtle borrows add to the pressures of putting. With a length of 6,277 yards and a par of 70, the course provides an excellent test of golf.

In 2000, Donald Steel and Company, the international golf course architects, were retained to carry out a comprehensive review of the course. In the light of the technological advances in equipment, they recommended the repositioning of a number of bunkers to restore the challenge for the better players (whilst making life a little easier for the average player) in a manner that is true to the spirit of Harry Colt. They also added weight to the need to manage the woodlands in order to maintain the beautiful views from the course and to encourage heathland regeneration.

Tandridge golf club provides a spectacular golf course which is ideal for society golf days and corporate golf days. We welcome visitors on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, either as casual green fee visitors or as an organised society.

One of the best courses around...

Paid £48 to play Tandridge on a Thursday, so it's not cheap, but it was worth every penny.
Everyone was friendly and helpful, the weather was lovely and the course was in excellent condition.
It's a mature parkland course laid out over some flat some hilly ground. So, tree lined fairways (generously wide) leading to usually big greens which were verrrry fast (3 putted 6 holes!).
The front nine is very pretty and a good, and fair, test of golf. The back nine is fantastic. The views to the North Downs from some of the holes is lovely and the dramatic layout of some of the holes (playing across the valley) is just superb - the 14th has to be seem to be appreciated.
All in all, very friendly club, excellent course just a pity it's quite so expensive, but I'll definitely be going back.
