Description

Test Valley golf course was designed by John Wright and European Tour Veteran Eamon Darcy in 1991.  At 6,700 yards the course is log.  However, the gently undulating layout ensures a fair test of golf for all abilities. At first the course was regarded as an inland links due to its fine tight turf on the fairways.  As Test Valley has matured it now plays like a downland course and has been rewarded with an excellent reputation for its all year round play whatever the weather conditions due to the exceptional drainage. The course possesess some prominent bunkers and water features with a fantastic mix of long and short holes ensuring that no two holes are the same. This coupled with the links style fairways and picturesque views of the stunning Hampshire countryside ensure visitors of all abilities enjoy their golf at Test Valley

Excellent value, good course

Test Valley's a great course with a decent variety of holes. There are a few tight fairways to be hit, and a few where you can open your shoulders. It was in great condition too, with smooth greens and decent fairways. Played it for only £12.50 from a tee time site, and for that money it's certainly worth the trip. The clubhouse is very pleasant, the staff in the pro shop are very friendly, and with the practice facilities it's great place to go to.

I played this course for £15 with an online offer. We played a 3 ball & one thing we all agreed these 18 holes seemed to go by too quickly!. The course was reasonably easy with some short par 5s & some interesting greens. We all enjoyed the round, but felt we needed another 9 holes to use up our excess energy. Well worth a visit.

This is a "farmer's field" but a a pretty decent one at that. A good range of holes with four 5s and four 3s. Quite wide open generally but trouble does lurk in the form of fairway/greenside bunkers and small copses if you stray. Fairways a bit dry due to recent shortage of rain but greens played well. Pleasant clubhouse. Driving range. We paid £15 - this is about right for this course. Easy access from A303.
