Description
The West Berkshire Golf Club, founded in 1975, is renowned for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Visitors are welcome during the week and at weekends, by prior arrangement.

Set on the Berkshire Downs the location offers players a peaceful round of golf amongst tree-lined fairways and many areas of the course provide stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

The course provides a good challenge for all standards of player thanks to a choice of tee positions, ranging from 5,450 yds to a championship length of over 7,000 yds. It was originally designed by Robin Stagg and has been systematically improved over the intervening years.

The modern construction techniques used on greens and tees ensure that the golf course is always presented in good condition and playable at all times of the year.

GREAT VALUE - £7 online.
Good course in good condition, apart from a few bare Teeing areas. Greens very true. Excellent Sausage Sandwich!

West Berkshire

I found the course Ok. faiways wide some very long holes 5th hole 580 yds off yellow tees. difficult to find your way round due to lack of signs. Course was very wet and greens had been spiked. We only paid £6 so good value. May look at going back in the spring\summer next year if we have one.

Lovely course,very forgiving.

This Par 73 course isn`t as daunting as it looks on the score card. The fairways are very forgiving and there isn`t a lot of rough to get caught up in.

I play off 19 and shot 4 under my handicap and it`s 700 yards longer than my home course.

The course is in excellent condition, with the greens running very true (I only 2 putted twice in the round). The bunkers have recently been filled with new sand.

The clubhouse facilities are good with an excellent kitchen and bar area.

My only gripe would be to get some decent lights in the changing rooms and toilets- looks a bit 1970`s. and install a chip and pin machine in the bar area (you have to go to the Pro shop to pay by card).

The round cost £22 and a course guide is £3.75, but is really helpful, it`s one of the best I`ve seen for detail and info.

Go and play if you get a chance.
