'The West Lancashire Golf Club of Blundellsands is decidedly one of the more venerable of English clubs. The course lies on a noble stretch of golfing ground which is second to none, not even to the East Lothian or to the country around Troon or Prestwick' West Lancashire has been a Final Qualifying course for The Open Championship at Royal Birkdale and Royal Liverpool and in 2008 will be so again when the best players in the world compete at Royal Birkdale. The clubhouse has first floor lounges overlook both the ninth and eighteenth greens and provide panoramic views of the course to the north and the Mersey estuary, Anglesey and the Welsh hills to the west. The long balcony, where drinks ands snacks may be served, is the ideal viewing platform for the famous West Lancashire sunsets. With its perfect location, comfortable surroundings and excellent catering and bar facilities, the Clubhouse is a haven for the tired and hungry golfer.
