I read and hear about all the golf clubs that improve you game.  Has anyone actually used them and do they work?
I bought the Hammer driver and 3-wood.  The 3-wood gives me a good 225 from the fairway.  I can't get rid of a push or slice with the driver.

Hi Danny,

If I don't keep the right elbow tucked in close to the side of my body on the swing then I can fade or slice the ball like you wouldn't believe (fade/slice dependent on how high I let my right arm get !) and like all the pros will tell you - the driver will magnify any swing fault you've got.

So I bought the Callaway 'square head' driver to compensate for my 'fade' biased swing and I have to say it does a good job (but the sound the clubface makes is so tinny I actually don't like using it - ho hum).

Mind you with 225 yards from the 3-wood I'd just stay with that and leave the driver in the bag...

My 3-wood off the tee gives me an honest 255 carry.  Depending on the bounce or roll I get more.
I've just given up on the driver since I can depend on the 3-wood.  May take some lessons to see if I can work out any swing problems.

Hi Danny
I know what you are going thru, had the excact problem 2 years ago, could not hit a driver but could launch my 3wood miles, until i had 3 lessons and the insructor took me back to basics,1) slow down the swing with the driver 2) positioning off my feet 3) my right arm..like Pete just couldnt get it in my head what my arm had to do(until a injury)...now my driving has improved and im more confident when steeping up to hit the big dog....i have a taylomade burner, nothing fancy..hope you get things sorted out soon...well worth having a pro look it over, piece off mind....

I took a few lessons and the pro told me to stay with the 3-wood since I can depend on 250 plus with it.  Better to be in the fairway and shooting for the green than to be longer and hitting from the rough.
