Had the privilege of playing with Sam Freeman, for the first time, along with Ed McLatchie on Friday 23rd May, at Abridge GC, (which was in superb condition)
Sam played a truly glorious tee shot on the 2nd, 153 yard par three...never left the stick, two bounces and in the hole. Took a photo for posterity, and gratefully accepted the obigatory pint in the clubhouse aftrwards.
A memorable day.

Sorry Judy, bit of a balls up with putting in cards. An old card got put in, just happened to have a hole in one on it. It has now been deleted, and the universe put back to rights. With the exception of this topic, updating too quickly.

That said, as it was an old card, it does mean that I am already a member of this wonderful club of super golfers, and this has just acted as a nice reminder to everyonbe, that although I am not hitting the balls well at the moment, there was in fact a time when all was good. The return is much overdue, and coming along slowly.

Thanks for the support though!

Was a 5 club competition that day, so a bit short sided on clubs. Originally had a PW in my hands that I was going to rip the arse of to reach the 135 yards. But a sudden sense of calm came over me and I found myself gripping down on an 8 iron, giving it a nice easy swing. The ball landing on the green, one bounce, a little roll up to the flag stick, and then it disappeared, MAGIC!................................. No bar a Cranham, so thanks to Andy C for coming down the pub after for a celebratory pint.

Funny - I played the same course in the same four ball as you that day? I think the 1 you pressed on the scorecard should have had a 0 after it!
