Canberra Golf Club originally started out as a 9 hole course situated on the banks of the Molongo River.
The course is now on its present site (relocation due to the river being dammed) in the suburb of Yarralumla and the design of the new 18 hole course was entrusted to Commander John Harris who routed the course through the Westbourne Woods arboretum, drawing comparisons with Augusta National in the USA.
Recently Peter Thompson has added a further 9 hole course which dovetails in the 18 hole course beautifully, blending in among the pine, birch and cedar trees of the property.
