Troia, designed by Robert Trent Jones in 1980, is reputed to be the toughest course in all of Portugal. However, because of it's position (south of Lisbon and well off the tourist track) it is relatively unknown.
Set on a spit of land with theAtlantic Ocean on one side and the Sado Estuary on the other the excellent layout makes great use of the natural undulations giving pine lined fairways running through wild dunes to raised greens protected by bold bunkering.
Alwaysexcellently maintained it's enjoyable for all but a great test for even the very bestgolfers.
