The River Club Golf Course in Johannesburg, South Africa features 18 holes designed by Bob Grimsdell and meticulously maintained in superb condition. A challenging but friendly course. Topographically the land was well suited to its intended purpose, although the soil conditions were not ideal, with much of the ground being rocky. These problems were overcome by assiduous fertilizer application after shallow ripping and raking of the area. Grimsdell’s original design remains largely unchanged.
