Novo Sancti Petri is the first golf course in Spain designed by Severiano Ballesteros. It has a total of 36 holes formingtwo 18-hole courses and many peopleconsider this tobe Severiano's masterpiece (thefirst 27 holes were opened1990, the remaining 9 holes were ready in April, 2001).
InMarch 2007Golf Novo Sancti Petri took over management of the nearby Campano Golf Club(located in the"San Andres" housing estate, on the outskirts of Chiclana). As a consequence Novo Sancti Petri Golf now offers3 * 18 hole golf courses.
Course A - the popular Mar y Pinos course (Sea and Pine Trees) offersspacious fairways andbeautifully designed water hazards. The signature6th holehas its green located just over a large, sandy beach. In the evening sun "You might just forget to putt", as a golf journalist once said. Then hole 9 leads you past the clubhouse and caddie master to the challenging pine tree round. Here you will have to overcome some natural pine tree hazards.
Course B is laid out onflat land and utiliseslarge water hazard between holes number 5, 8 and 9. From the 10th to the 13ththe ground is slightly undulating and offers some excellent views over the Atlantic Ocean (holes5 to 13 are the new holes -opened in 2001). Holes14-16 offer yet another large water hazard and thenon the 18th, the designer of the course has immortalized himself by leaving us a bunker in the shape of an "S" for Severiano.
Course C comprises the original Campano Golf Club course (5840 metres). The first 9 holes are played on a parkland course surrounded by thevillas of San Andrés housing estate then the back nineis set out amongstaged olive trees and three large pondscome into play.
