Allestree Park Golf Club, designed by the legendary Harry Colt, was established in 1948 in the heart of Derbyshire. This par 68, 18-hole course spans approximately 130 acres of historic parkland, providing players with a mixture of wide, open fairways and tighter, tree-lined sections. With views of the park’s stunning lake and the Grade II-listed Allestree Hall, the course is noted for its natural beauty. The undulating terrain and challenging greens make it a favourite among local golfers.
The course hosted local club competitions for years and was known for its involvement with Derbyshire’s county golf events. While the future of the course is uncertain, as it was recently closed, its legacy as a community hub for golfers and the beautiful setting will always be remembered by the locals.
