The Bull Bay Club lies on the north coast of Anglesey half a mile westof Amlwch, off the A5025.This headland course, heathland is condition, sits high above the Irish Sea, enjoying spectacular viewson a clear day to the Isle of Man and the far away Cumberland hills. The holes run up, down and across asloping headland which boasts little in the way of vegetation save for the odd patch of gorse. This is a genuine hidden gem of a course, well worth seeking out as much for its setting as its challenge. There isnothing pretentious about Bull Bay. There is honest down to earth golf here and great value green fees too. The course's setting, high on the headland leaves it exposed to the full force of the wind off the Irish Sea, whichabates only seldom in this part of the world. But its honest golf and if the need to wrap up is more common here than in other places, the overall experienceis well worth it. The Bull Bay Clubhouse makes no pretences at being the Ritz Carlton, but it is comfortable and functional andthere is a genuinely warm welcome to be found here among the locals. Old fashioned values are the order of theday here and the club is the better for it.
