Things have improved dramatically!

I just found the two reviews I’ve this course from some years ago.
I’ve no doubt that they were true at the time, but it’s fair to say things have improved dramatically since then.
The green may still be a little small compared to some others, but the course is now excellently maintained.
I last played the 18 hole par 3 in February, during one of the wettest winters. It played remarkably well, whilst most others in the are were closed.
I haven’t seen a single piece of litter anywhere on the grounds.
The clubhouse is still a little rough and ready compared to a grand country club, but I challenge anyone to find a better welcome.
Also, keep in mind that membership here is about one third of the cost of other clubs in the area, and for that you get 27 holes!
Also, the green fees are considerably less than £20, and for that you get access all day, not just a single round.
Over the last ten years, there must have been a lot of work put in, as it’s now a really great club.

9 hole + 18 hole par 3 course + driving range but rough !

Castle Hawk Golf Club is a mess ! A 9 hole full size course built on a hillside behind Rochdale Junction. Course poorly maintained and the greens are small. Cap park is a mud patch with no tarmac or chippings etc ? Clubhouse is a collection of sheds and a caravan and looks like a dockside cafe inside although it is friendly. The driving range divides the course and on the 3 holes next to it it is VERY difficult to find your ball as these holes are strewn with range balls hit over or through the fencing ! The par 3 course in particular is littered with discarded cans and beer/cider bottles and other litter. Driving range is OK but not much in the way of tees to use ? Even for beginners its a bit of a let down ? We won't be going back.
