Water, water everywhere and always in the drink.

This is a new course and only 9 holes are open at present, with the remainder opening at the end of this year. The 9 that exist are not long, but the fairways are narrow making them pretty challenging, especially with a stiff breeze coming up the Mersey. Added to that there are plenty of young shrubs and trees and three holes that have a pond - the others all have two or more! I am told that the new holes will be longer and wider, and if they are as intersting it will be a fine course once matured. As it is the greens are quick and true, although they are still quite firm, and we saw a few balls scuttle across when we expected them to hold.

The course is very pleasant, despite being in the shadow of the local power station (we had plenty to concentrate on so didn't really think about it) and if you like wildlife you'll have plenty to see as well.

The driving range (automated) and pro shop are good but I have not found a bar yet. We live in hope.
