Penrith Golf Club is situated in a splendid location between the delights of the Eden Valley and the majesty of the Lake District, the lakeland fells provide a magnificent backdrop to this par 69 course formed in 1890. The par 69 course is not considered long at just over 6000 yards, but it contains a rich mixture of holes where length is required from some tees, whilst precision is demanded at others. A recently completed tree planting programme has added variety, and with the course turning through 180 degrees every three holes, the wind can play an important and variable factor in any round, changing the character of holes dramatically. The club has an enviable reputation for welcoming visitors for whom reductions in fees are available provided they stay at any of the hotels or guest houses shown on the website. Golfers wishing to play Penrith should contact the Professional for available tee-times.
