DESCRIPTION:

Founded in 1908, Maesteg Golf Club features a challenging par-71 course that measures 6,380 yards, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Welsh hills. The course is characterised by its undulating fairways and well-maintained greens, providing a rewarding challenge for golfers. The 2nd hole, a long par-4, requires a precise tee shot to navigate the dogleg and set up an approach to the green. The signature 12th hole, a par-3, demands accuracy as players must navigate a deep ravine to reach the green. Maesteg Golf Club prides itself on its commitment to course maintenance and friendly atmosphere, making it a popular choice among local golfers.

Conveniently located near the A4063, the club is easily accessible and close to attractions such as the scenic Maesteg Park and the stunning landscapes of the surrounding hills, perfect for a day of golf and local exploration.

hard going

The greens were hard and some approach shot were difficult to judge. roughs are small and narrow.Heavy rough will punish any golfer.

Unfair

Played this course last year when playing for the Wayfarers, The fairways slope at a 45 degree angle, i hit amost every fairway and all but 1 of them the ball shot at stupid angles into ditches rough etc, The only good hole was the short down hill par 3, there are many more courses that are cheaper and better
