DESCRIPTION:

Oulton Park Golf Club, located on the outskirts of Leeds, offers a meticulously designed course that seamlessly blends natural beauty with strategic challenges. This 27-hole complex, featuring the par-72 Calverley Course, stretches across undulating parkland, presenting golfers with tree-lined fairways, water hazards, and fast greens. Designed to test all levels of ability, its layout requires precision off the tee and careful shot selection.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Yorkshire countryside, the course provides stunning views across the Aire Valley. The nearby A1(M) and M62 offer excellent access for visiting golfers, while local landmarks such as Temple Newsam and Roundhay Park add to the area’s appeal. Well-placed bunkers and natural elevation changes make for a dynamic round, with risk-and-reward holes providing excitement throughout.

Oulton Park’s signature holes include testing par 3s that demand accuracy and longer par 5s where strategy is key. Whether playing a competitive round or simply enjoying the challenge, golfers will appreciate the fine balance of playability and difficulty across its beautifully maintained fairways and greens.

A venue with the wow factor up north!

This location was chosen for the DGA Auld Enemies Cup. On arrival Roy Hodgson and the Crystal Palace Football Team were just leaving so I reckoned it would be an alright place to stay! The owner has his helicopter pick him up to go to meetings!
The hotel is 4 star, rooms and breakfast are amazing. I did not try the spa and pool but heard they were fantastic.
We ate in the Claret Jug the Club House, the food was not bad but nothing to shoot about. Drinks prices a little steep but we got 20% discount members rates. Coffee was around £3!
The course boasts 27 holes, we played all three nines. The Calverley, is the 1-18 The Hall 19-27.
10-18 19-27 is probably the toughest. We played it 19-27 10-18. The course is an amazing layout, very parkland tight in places. The greens not overly difficult but very true, not very quick but good to putt on. The tee boxes and Bunkers were very poor, and let the course down. Major work is to be done on both in the near future. The Fairways were average but have suffered in the dry summer. On its day I think this could be a fantastic course.
I'd love to go back and probably will as my lady can enjoy the Spa etc while I play a round.

picturesque surroundings

Played it for the third time yesterday and it is excellent
value for money. All greens and tees are open and trolleys are still permitted. As it is essentially three nine hole courses you have the added interest of not knowing which eighteen you are playing until you arrive. I can recommend this course.
2 for 1 vouchers. Course is always in the best condition it can be for the weather conditions. Holes are both varied and challenging. Top notch course with 27 holes and excellent value for money.

oulton park

played oulton park and stayed the night b4 in the on-course hotel. the hotel was a stately home b4 being converted,it was very grand & posh.also a bit expensive.if staying there i would definately take the dinner bed & breakfast option. need shirt & tie for the restaurant.we played the front 9 on the park & 9 on the hall. the holes seemed to play longer than the yardage suggested.the hall was the more difficult 9 bunkers were very well placed. greens were good.this belongs to the devere group, all their courses are quite open so a stray shot doesn't punish you like at some courses. overall opinon was an enjoyable course with opportunities to score well especially for long hitters off the tee.will return.
