Complex layout, oceans and rivers (a fair amount of water)

Not exceptionally well signposted from main roads. Shared site with hotel complex currently a construction site. Car parking spaces a premium.

Dinky little pro shop, friendly reception and good bar/cafe facility.
Course layout, complex and not too well signed. At the time of visit tee boxes showing lots of wear. Lots of ditches and water hazards, a fair amount of elevation changes so not an easy walk.
Definate linksy feel to this course. Long hitters, leave the driver in the bag.

Sunday Driver

I bought a two ball overnight stay in an charity auction so for 70 quid (35 each), bed and breakfast and as much golf as we wanted to play.
We enjoyed the course layout, very tough in places, fairways and first cut of rough were in need of a cut but talking later we found out they were waiting for mower parts. The greens were excellent. It is a course where some knowledge is useful, when we played the second and third times we knew the angles better. Take plenty of balls there are opportunities to lose some on every hole, good signage through out and a map on scorecard which was helpful.
Food was very good and bar staff were happy to stay up as long as you were.
Room was a bit dated but more than adequate for our requirements. Staff were all friendly and happy to help.
All in all would be very happy to return for a weekend stay.

Water water everywhere!

This was a particularly arduous round, the ground was pretty sodden and the rough required a very firm grip!

Could be great.........

This course is a not one for the big hitters as you need to plot your way round this pretty parkland course. The greens are nice and flat and there is plenty of water around to navigate. However, I get the feeling it is not getting the TLC it needs. Some of the greens were littered with pitch marks and the 150 markers could do with an updating. It also would have been nice to have a hot shower afterwards rather than the ice cold one. All in all, worth a visit but dont expect too much.
