DESCRIPTION:

Pontefract and District Golf Club was established in 1904. The course is an attractive parkland course set on a gentle hillside with several interesting holes.

Because of its compact layout is a good test of golf for a par of 71 and a SSS of 69.

The course was designed by Alistair MacKenzie famous as the designer of the Augusta National course and many other prominent American courses and incorporates three examples of the Mackenzie green.

The newly refurbished Clubhouse is very compact and has a friendly atmosphere and a full catering service is available most of the time.
