DESCRIPTION:

Wetherby Golf Club, established in 1910, is a scenic 18-hole parkland course with a par of 72, stretching 6,664 yards. The course is known for its well-maintained fairways, strategic water hazards, and stunning views of the River Wharfe, which flows alongside several holes. The signature par-5 17th hole is a highlight, with a challenging dogleg that demands accuracy.

Located near the A1(M), Wetherby Golf Club is easily accessible from Leeds, York, and Harrogate, making it a popular destination for golfers across the region. The nearby market town of Wetherby offers a variety of attractions, including historic buildings, riverside walks, and local shops, providing plenty of options for relaxation and exploration after a round.

Quality and well worth the trip, tough track

One of my favourite courses, Wetherby Golf Club was founded in 1910 on land which, during the 19th Century was the site of Wetherby Racecourse. You'll find it on the border with the village of Linton nestling in the Wharfe Valley. Check out the houses around the course!
"Six holes now have stunning views of the River Wharfe as it winds its way from Collingham to Wetherby. The hill climbing over the closing holes has been eliminated and, although the course is best described as undulating, the walking is comfortable and pleasant. Added to that, the course, with its new design, has achieved its major goal of providing two loops of 9-holes, one of Dr. Mackenzie's priority aims for the perfect layout, though he never managed to achieve it himself over 80 years ago."
