DESCRIPTION:

Spectacular and challenging, both the South and North 18-hole championship layouts at this two-course set-up on the outskirts of San Diego in Southern California, was designed by legendary golf course designer William P Bell and completed by his son William F Bell. Both courses test a player's skill with tight fairways, lush rough, pine trees, bunkers, sand and often challenging weather conditions.Fog, rain and wind often sweep in on these seaside courses, testing even the most seasoned players' skills. The complex takes its name from the indigenous Torrey Pine which is native to the area and to Santa Rosa Island. The tree is distinguished by having clusters of five pine needles. On the South Course, there are many holes that look directly onto the Pacific Ocean which lies a hundred yards below the links, and several more with views of a huge natural canyon. The North Course offers several holes that are situated high atop the bluffs overlooking the coastline.

Torrey Pine

Spectacular and challenging both South and North on the outskirts of San Diego. The South course tests a players skill with tight fairways, lush rough, pine trees, bunkers, add challenging weather conditions as its at the top of a cliff which looks out to the Pacific ocean, and views of a huge natural canyon.
1st The tee shot is slightly dog leg right with bunkers both sides of the green, this hole plays into wind off the ocean. 2nd The green slopes severely from back to front and are grease lightning. 3rd is a par 3 with two tier green sloping dramatically from left to right and you hit towards the ocean, very good experience was not used to such fast greens and pricey at £150 a round.
