TPC Tampa Bayopened to the public in1991.
The Par 71, 6900 yardchampionship course was designed by Bobby Weed with Chi Chi Rodriguez acting as player consultant.
The course is laid out on flat natural wetland with numerous ponds and lagoons providing natural challenge and well as providing a home to an abundance of wildlife - deer, foxes, armadillos, otters, alligators, egrets, storks, cranes, blue herons and eagles all inhabit the golf course.
Thedesign brief, like other TPC facilities, was to design a course which would challenge the best golfers in the worldwhilst provide challenge and fun to players of less ability. Bobby Weed certainly achieved that aim with adesign which, from the back tees, challengeseven the very best but offers a variety of other tee positions to allow the beauty of the course to be enjoyed by less able golfers.
Always maintained in excellent condition, TPC Tampa Bay was recently voted 13th Best Public GolfFacility by Golf World Magazine.
The course is golf buggy only (no walking).
