Desert Rose Golf Club

Desert Rose aka "The ditch" is owned by the county, and managed by the Billy Casper group. Water comes into play 0n 16 or so holes. It just depends on how low, and when they cut the rough. Home owners' back yards come into play on 17 holes. In other words you need to be some what accurate off the tee, and some fairway shots. It's not a bad course, but it is not a high dollar course either. The only complaint I have is the teaching pro likes to talk to his buddies on the range in a loud enough voice to be bothersome to those a round him. I don't see him giving very many lessons either, and I am at the course just about every day. Snack bar has decent prices, and decent food, with some daily specials. I walk, or ride after 12 noon, week days for $9.50 for 18 holes, with a discount card. Plus, I get all the range balls I want for free. I usually golf there twice a week, and hit range balls 2 or 3 times a week. the first three holes can be one of the toughest starting three holes in town if you are not properly warmed up. Turf conditions are pretty good and seem to be improving.
