Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club was built in 1927. It has fairways of bermuda grass and greens of bent grass, water hazards and lots of bunkers.
Two 18 hole courses, the Pine Needles and Mid Pines, the latter being slightly shorter, are courses that are very siilar to the Scottish courses. The designer, Donald Ross, ensured he used the lands natural topography dictate the routing and the holes.
