Wachesaw Plantation Golf Club, perchedhigh on a bluff overlooking the Intrcoastal Waterway, was opened as a residential community and championship golf course in1986.
The 6,900 yard championshipcourse is considered to be Tom Fazio's finest achievement. The rolling fairways weave in and around the Plantation's beautiful estate houses and the undulating greens, grassy bunkers and knolls establish a unique character which Faziohimself described as 'the Wachesaw look'. The 18th hole is a masterpiece, set high atop a bluff overlooking the Waccamaw, it is frequently recognised as one of the most dramatic holes on the East Coast.
Thecourse has won numerous awards includingSouth Carolina Golf Association's 'Club of the Year 2009', 'Top 100 Best Residential Golf Courses in America 2006' by Golf Week Magazine and 'Top 50 Best Courses in South Carolina 2004'.
