Lymm Golf Club, established in 1907, is a mature, quality course of some interest. Situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Lymm the course is bounded by the Manchester Ship Canal and open farmland. The course is played on two levels with the original holes played on the top level alongside the canal. This area has developed almost a heathland type of vegetation - a feature recently added to with the planting of gorse bushes. The first two holes and holes eleven onwards are played on the lower level, opened in 1972 this is a more traditional parkland type setting. The many course improvements made over the last few years by the grounds team have been recognised by various bodies resulting in some prestigious events being staged over Lymm's testing course. In 2005 Lymm co-hosted the English Seniors Amateur Open and has staged the Tamsel Pro Tour event for 2005, 2006 and 2007. Visitors are always assured a warm welcome at Lymm and as well as an excellent course to play, the new clubhouse facilities roundoff the package.
