DESCRIPTION:

Set in beautiful countryside inland from Deauville this modern course, designed by Bill Baker, is very 'American' in style. The meadowland course is laid out in a very pretty, shallow valley. It is extremely well maintained and offers wide expansive fairways and few bunkers, the real challenge is provided by the way the several large lakes have been fully integrated into the course layout. A challenge for all without being too penal for the higher handicapper.

Superb quality 'American' style French course

Played here a couple of times (most recently in May 08) and it's always good.

Course is laid out in relatively flat countryside outside of Deauville. So the designer put the clubhouse on probably the only hill (giving good views from the terrace) and put in several huge lakes and a few impressive pieces of art in an 'American' style layout (by which I mean wide fairways, few trees, no rough to speak of, strategic use of bunkers and lots of water hazards).

If you're in the area it's one of the better ones to play (Hotel du Golf Deauville - Old course - is another great course in the area).
