Delhi Golf Club, laid out on 220 acres of land in New Delhi, was laid out in 1951 when the Prime Minister granted a 30 year lease over the land to protect it from expansion of the city.
The championship length course is always well maintained and the landthrough which it meandersdoubles as a bird sanctury and so the game can be enjoyedamongstover 300 different species of birds. There is a population of 35/40 Sambar deer on the property.
Previously used for major professional championships the course record is still held by Graham Marsh, the Australian, who shot two fantastic rounds of 66 in the 1971Open Championship.
The club has a rich history and the course has in the past played host to Princes, the Agha Khan, generals and diplomats.
The off-course facilities are, as you would expect, extensive and of high quality.
