Williamstown Golf Club

Williamstown GC is a Municipal Golf Course in the Waterford City. It is a parkland course but close to the Irish Sea so is generally affected by windy conditions.

The course is a difficult challenge for the mid to high handicap level of player. The greens are well protected by greenside bunkers. The level of course maintenance is not as high as would apply to a private members golf course so the fairways and greens were not as closely cut as would be expected in the London/SE region; and consequently in conjunction with generally windy playing conditions the course plays longer than the card yardage (card recorded in metres).

No course planner available. The facilities are very basic portacabin facilities; there are tea/coffee machines but no bar or catering only soft drinks and sweets etc.

My green fee was 13 Euros so it was excellent VFM. I played the course as a replacement for a planned competition due to be played at Enniscorthy GC which had been washed out by heavy rain.
