Planes, Trains and Automobiles

A course I hadn't played for well over ten years, but it certainly won't be a ten years wait before I play here again. Not an overly long course, but a decent amount of bunkers, a few ponds and tree lined fairways means that you still have to work for a decent score.

The fairways and greens were in really good condition, and this is the first time I've seen a green fairway after the hot summer we've just had.

There's a really nice clubhouse, and the bar staff seemed to be very welcoming and friendly.

The only slight downside is the noise, which comes at you from the M25, the Paddington line, and Heathrow airport. However, don't let this put you off, because this is a very lovely course and well worth playing.

Good value, nice course

Played here in the Winter before and swore never again. Played in the Summer and think it's fabulous! Parkland course with many opportunities to score well. Greens in good condition, fairways were excellent. Bunkers played well with enough sand compared to a lot. Hospitality was brilliant and will definitely have another society day there.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

This course is not the course to play if you are hoping for a quiet game of golf. The first few holes are played next to the M25, followed by a couple that run parallel to a main train line and you are also about 5 miles from Heathrow, so aircraft noise to deal with as well. Those are the negatives. The course itself was ok, well priced at only £16 for a Sunday twilight round. Fairways were a bit too long in places, but the greens and bunkers were in good condition. I would play again if I lived closer, but a 75mile roundtrip means I won't be heading back too soon.

The lady behind the was welcoming and helpful.

Two varied 9s run near the motorway junction.

It was a very quiet Monday morning when we visited so we played millionaires' golf. The greens were all good, but a tight front 9 is followed by a more spacious back 9 with stadium-type holes rather in the style of East Sussex National or the PGA at the Belfry. These proved more amenable to the wayward longer hitter, as I proved by playing the 14th fairway three times, making birdie from there on the 15th. At this friendly and accessible club you are always conscious of the M25, if not trains and planes as well, but wildlife also awaits in the secluded ponds and streams if you have time to stop and stare.
