DESCRIPTION:

Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club, located on the Cardigan Bay coastline in Mid Wales, is one of Wales’ oldest and most traditional links courses. Spread across 150 acres, this 18-hole course features a par 70 layout with natural dunes, fast fairways, and unpredictable coastal winds. Established in 1885, Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments over the years and is recognised for its challenging design. The course is easily accessible via the A487 and offers stunning views of the bay and the surrounding mountains. The signature hole, the par-5 12th, is particularly challenging, requiring a well-placed tee shot to navigate the tight fairway flanked by dunes.

Known for its rugged beauty and true links experience, Borth & Ynyslas Golf Club attracts golfers seeking a demanding round of golf in a spectacular coastal setting. The club’s long history, combined with its natural links terrain, makes it one of Wales’ most treasured golfing destinations.

Welsh Links at its best, truly a great course

This is my favorite course each time I visit West Wales. It has everything you want to experience when playing a links course. You start off and up to the 8th hole is where you can score, driving and sending those iron shots onto or close to the green, with that wind behind, you feel like a million dollars. Here's the best bit from the 9th until you finish, you will get battered, like wind, undulations, rough bla, bla, bla. My fellow golfers may not agree, but the rain came in on the last 2 or 3 holes, and for me made the whole experience sublime.

I cannot tell tell you how much fun, or what a great challenge this hidden gem gives you as a golf course. In many places it resembles Royal St Georges (Kent) - amazing views, great mounds, just amazing views. I always try and provide an honest review, this is a great course, but if they invested in changing the shape of just 3 or 4 greens and making them more interesting, longer, undulating it would be great. I would surmise like many local golf courses with no massive memberships figures are low, which is a terrific shame as this place is truly amazing, is it a 10, maybe not, but its a defo 8/9 out of 10.
