will be back again for sure - lovely course

This course is £35 midweek for a round, but we got on cheaper for £15. This course was in lovely condition, (and I really do mean lovely), lush green receptive greens that were nice n fast but not electric fast. A must play course for sure. The staff were extremely friendly, not only this, but we met many members pre post and during our round, and they were all very accommodating and friendly. Cannot praise them enough, the practice area for putting and chipping,,, superb.

I will be back again, as soon as i can

Nice course......

Had this on my list of courses to play for quite a while now, so was looking forward to the game...

On arrival we were warmly greeted by the chaps in the Pro shop who kindly gave us a quick tour to point out were everything was (a rare treat but very useful and welcoming!). We made our way into the Clubhouse and had a fairly priced breakfast which was nicely presented and well priced.

The course itself starts with some fairly benign holes but it gives you a chance to find your feet but then the course get interesting with some simple but good Par 3's and some nice dog-leg holes.

As you enter the back nine, take a look left and you'll see the original estate house, which gives the course its history. The rest of the course is fairly flat but you will need to place your ball well to score.

Parkland in design, there are plenty of signature cedar trees on the course that give the place a feeling of grandeur but this is let down by some patchy greens, as such I think the £60 Visitor rate is way over priced, I would pay £30/35 but no more.

Overall I enjoyed my round. I enjoyed the hospitality but I think it needs some more work for this to be considered a top course!

Great golf, friendly people, setting to drool over, a good all round day.

Braintree golf course ( in Stisted village ) is a fantastic course, very demanding but can be forgiving on certain holes which makes decidely for fantastic golf. It is split in half by a roadway that does nothing to deter from the quality of the course and the pleasure in play, it is not a course for the novice, but if you have a handicap below 20/22 you will really enjoy. It is a course that all players will enjoy for the pure nature of its enviroment. After the game relax in the clubhouse with a good selection of tipples presenter by mine host Roger who takes pride in his presentation of libations, the clubhouse also provides good hearty food at a reasonable price, so give it a try.

Good course

Good all round venue. Challenges on each hole, An iron course for the better players dictating the short length, but it is hilly in some parts!
