Superb condition

Yes it is an expensive pay and play course - there are no members at this club! But you pay for what you get. Free yardage books, tees, drinks on the first tee.
The course for this time of the year is in absolute superb condition. The fairways are like carpets and the greens are excellent. The upkeep of the course is fantastic and it is an absolute pleasure to play on. Really interesting layout and some great holes.
I would definitely come back here to play when I have saved up a few quid!!
Guinness is about £7.00 a pint in the Stables Bar which doubles up as the clubhouse after your round.
If you get the chance then play it as you will not regret it.

Amazing

Very lucky to get to play at a venue such as this - from arrival to departure, you are treated like a tour pro, nothing is too much trouble.
Course is beautiful and deceivingly challenging. What looks like a straightforward par 4 is never such a thing and every green requires a good approach shot or you are in for a high score (like mine).
It's quite daunting teeing up on the 18th with the Tiger Woods WGC plaque (3 eagles and a birdie), my ball did pass his drive marker (but that was with my second)

experience not to be missed.

Located a short hop from the m25 this is a well-established venue for more than just golf.exclusivity is the keyword and it is an experience not to be missed. lots of casual parking, you can drive up to pro shop area and enjoy having clubs managed by attendants, or choose to do it yourself. all staff were more than friendly, and most welcoming.. I have dined hete before and know the quality of food is good. Halfway house and delivery to course were options for snacks and such like. Soft spikes ok all around the area... the course is well thought out, quite a fair amount of walking green to tee, designed primarily with buggies in mind well signed and beautifully maintained. A few feature holes and an impressive vista. Lots of freebies and inclusive bacon rolls were welcomed at half way.

Deals may be negotiated...but expect to pay the going rate for drinks and snacks..

Played early morning but it was warming up and quite a tiring walk later in the round...

Disgracefully good.....

From the moment you arrive you are treated like a Royal. Bags taken from car, warm welcome from staff and lovely food. You are then invited to the driving range where a pyramid of balls await you. You walk to the first tee where the starter is warm and welcoming. Then it goes downhill fast!!! The tee boxes are immaculate, the fairways like carpet and the greens like mirrors. Ball cleaners on every hole that actually have water in them and TWO towels to dry the balls. Clear signage between holes and a drinks cart that you see after every few holes. After 18 holes I had pretty much zero mud on me!!! And before you leave you get a lovely bag tag in brass with your name on it. I mean; where do they think they get off providing this sort of golfing experience?!!!!!

On a side note, although the condition of the course is excellent, if you are looking for a mature course this is not it. It is indeed very open and often quite hilly. It certainly isn't the most aesthetically appealing course in the world but one I am pleased to have ticked off the list.

Fantastic and prestige Golf Course

The course is well maintain and I don't think you can complain much about the present as winter just finished and it will take quite sometime before everything back to tip top condition but still you will be surprise that it is still good and very high standard at this time of the year. Green is fast but the grass still not fully grown yet. The green speed is 10. Green fees is a bit hefty at 80.00 weekdays but it is well worth it if you have any discount opportunity to play there. Their par 4 all are long and Par 5 nearly 600 yards.. so be prepare to take your fairway and long iron

The Finest Course in London ...

Don't know why I haven't written this review before as I have been waxing lyrical about the place since I played there in April.

This IS without doubt the best condition course I have EVER played. Seriously, this is how golf was meant to be ...

The Grove has no members, as such anyone can play here but you will pay for the privilege. Home of the WGC Championship in 2006, where Tiger Woods eagled the 18th three days on the trot and only getting a birdie on the same hole on the final day - it's a true test.

Everything about this place is class, from the reception (they take your clubs from your car and park it for you) to the lockers room (your name will be on your locker when you arrive). to the superb food.

The course itself is immaculate, with fairways better than some greens I play on...The greens are as you would expect, close to 11-12 on the Stimp-meter but this is how the PRO's play!!

OK, would I pay the £160 - no! (I was a guest). Would I pay a twilight rate from 3pm for £60/70 - yes I would! This is a real treat, so if you get the chance to play there, do it. If you have to pay, look for the deals.

I can't wait to go back!

Amazing condition, very good course

The Grove was a fantastic all round experience, from the moment you arrive you are treated like a king (just a paying one lol)

The facilities are like none i have ever seen in honest, and the condition of the course was the best i've ever seen and what with todays weather thats saying something.

Ok now for the geeky stuff, lets chat about the buggy, had more mod-cons then most cars.

Having said all that, it was not the most interesting course i have played, some brilliant holes but also some that id easily forget within the week.

Price: Well today we paid £105 and we had bacon rolls and sausage & mash after the round with a buggy.... i am happy with the value but i personally feel the summer full rate of £160 is overpriced.

if you love golf, then this is one to put on the tick list, treat yourself.

Like regular golf, but turned up to 11

Fairways, tees and greens in sublime condition and a course set up to find the ideal line between challenging and rewarding. A couple of our group joked that the tees were better than most greens we regularly play on, I thought you could argue the same of most fairways.

To me the most remarkable feat is that the staff, as you arrive, before your round, during it and after, manage to be attentive and helpful, making you feel part of a high-end club and nothing but comfortable.

Perfect practice facilities and a great experience. Scatter my ashes anywhere but the #$£@! 9th hole.

The Grove

Simply the best conditioned course in the UK -Fact.
Quality of the tee boxes are better than most greens! Great layout, good mix of holes and simply stunning. Bar is a tad pricey, but this is a five star resort in London.

Play it and you won't be disappointed.

It's Pay & Play, |Jim, but not as we know it.

"One of the best kept golf courses in Europe" says Monty and you have to agree. Everything is immaculate, from the bag drop at reception to the cleaned clubs returned to the car. The fairways are so lush my short-hitting partner complained there was no run, but you can play any club off that surface with complete confidence, so my GIR stats were good. The greens are fair but fast and true, so they can take a bit of mastering. Personally, I preferred to play through the air, as my chip-in birdie on the 15th confirmed.
The whole venue is very modern and celebrity oriented, host to the England football team when at Wembley for instance. Just close your eyes when you pay the bill, or ideally, get someone else to.
