Enjoyable, even when soggy!

Nice course, each hole has its own character and shows its maturity well.

The greens were quick, even with all the rain we've been having and proved a real challenge.

The course itself was very wet, and downright boggy in places - but it has been exceptionally wet of late. Despite that it was an enjoyable day, the staff were courteous - even when giving us the hurry up (why people think that a society of four balls, on a course they don't know, in the wet will finish inside 4 hours is beyond me).

Corrugated

Course in itself is not too bad, except the corrugated fairways. Drive it down the middle and be prepared to have a down hill lie on one shot and an uphill lie on the next. Flatten the undulations out and improve the course by a huge percentage. Practice area I saw was a net, but the have an indoor area, with sign at entrance saying indoor golf. The putting green was shut. Having played this course several years ago, I was expecting better. The clubhouse is not bad, but overall the visit was marred by those undulations. I would play again, but will not be rushing back.

will not return

Did not like this course one bit, purely because of the heavily undulating fairways, it was like playing on a grassed over potato field. If you suffer from sea sickness, do not, under any circumstances, use a buggy...even pushing my cart became a chore. Worse still was the fact that a perfectly good drive, down the middle, is invariably punished with having an uphill or downhill lie to contend with. After 5 or 6 holes it gets very discouraging. Greens OK, bunkers good, green surrounds good, but those fairways....urgh. Clubhouse friendly with excellent food, but does not, IMHO, make up for a poor course. They should buy a grader and flatten it. Didn't use practice facilities which we saw some distance from the clubhouse, and did not see a practice green either...at least, if there was one, it was nowhere near the clubhouse. Needless to say, it was my worst round for years. I shall not return.

Grand Views at Crews Hill..

Never heard of this course until I saw a sign just off the A10, so thought I would give it a go. Now I wont say I didnt like the course (I did )only, I dont think it was worth £35 on a Bank Holiday afternoon when the course was pretty much empty! A parkland up and down track, there are some good holes and its a good test, given it required some thinking to get round in a good score but I'm sorry, if you want people to visit your course think about the climate your operating in and give people a reason to come back not stay away - maybe thats how they want it?!
