DESCRIPTION:

Chestfield Golf Club, located in the picturesque seaside town of Whitstable, Kent, is a par-70 course that spans 6,223 yards of stunning countryside. Established in 1924, this historic course is celebrated for its blend of natural beauty and golfing challenge, making it a must-visit destination for enthusiasts. Set amidst undulating terrain, the fairways are framed by mature trees and provide sweeping views of the North Downs and beyond. The course’s layout requires precision and strategy, with several holes demanding careful navigation around cleverly placed bunkers and sloping greens.

Notable features include the par-5 4th hole, where accuracy is key to avoid the challenging water hazards, and the par-3 13th, which tests golfers with its elevated green. The course’s proximity to Whitstable’s famous coastline adds a unique dimension, with fresh sea breezes often influencing play.

Nearby landmarks include the historic Whitstable Harbour and the iconic Tankerton Slopes, both offering a glimpse into the area’s charm. This course offers a fine balance of history, natural splendour, and technical challenge for golfers seeking an unforgettable experience.

Good course must play

Played it today, 28th April 2016 and all is good. Greens just been done and still running fast and smooth, fairways looking good with nice lines done by the mower, you know we all like those lines. Nice separations between fairway semi and rough, and the same with green fringe and fairway. Some of the Tee boxes are fantastic to look at and views from the course in general are awesome.

Don't expect a nice cushion of lush grass under your ball though, the grass on Chestfield is cut close.

The only thing I don't like about it is the up and down fairways, as in your trolley literally going up and down up and down as your walking up the fairway on some of the holes, apart from that it's a lovely course.

I think Boughton is in better condition, but only because it's a different type of grass, but for me Chestfield is just better, better layout and harder and much much quieter in the afternoons, plus it's quite a bit cheaper.

Great course for those not wanting to spend the day in trees.

Haven't played this course this year yet, but have done regular in the warmer months the last few years. Always in cracking condition.

Hilly course but has some cracking views to go with it.

Practice facilities are pretty good with a bunker, putting green, 150 yard practice area near the club house and longer area suitable for drivers in the middle of the course.
