Interesting course

Nice course, quite hilly on the front 9, would recommend hiring a buggy if anyway unfit like myself. Tight fairways which tend to catch out the higher handicappers, like myself. Overall an enjoyable experience and i will definitely visit again.

Return!

Yes, a return to Cobtree was well worth it! A firmer outing made for a better experience. Good company before, during and after the round definitely is a boon.

All in all the course quality is not bad considering that the pandemic is stopping extra work being carried out and, as an example, bunkers being sub par. Breakfast was good and staff are making the most of what they can do.

'Not The TSG Open' was a good day out, thanks to Mark for organising.

OK

Playing at what the end of what may be one of the wettest early Autumns in memory, the course is actually better than some.

Tender loving care is not something that any Council run golf course will normally get, but generally this one appears to have had it, but due to weather, maybe the ground staff are not using their equipment very often! The whole course is in need of a 'haircut' but it needs to dry out a little first.

Generally speaking the course is playing quite well. Being that much shorter it is no surprise that high stableford scores are available. And a SSS of 68 is a little out, any pro is going to eat this course alive!

A return trip may well be on the cards, but only after a dry spell.

Rain @ Cobtree

I have played Cobtree Manor a few times and have always found it a pleasure. They are planning some improvement work soon so I look forward to going back there.

Neat little course at bargin prices

A public golf course, run by local council. Not a very long course, but many interesting holes. Course was in good condition, with the exception of the odd bunker needing a bit of sand (still playable though) At £10 for twilight weekend it's a bargain. Mytime card holders get a further 10% One word of warning, be prepared for it to be busy at weekend. Waiting may be involved. Some of the par 4s are quite short, e.g 266yd, 278yd, so low handicap players would probably wait for the green to clear. It attracts a fair numbers of beginners as well, as the layout and yardage is not difficult. On the day of visiting, everyone seemed patient, so it is a course recommendation for those venturing onto a course for the first time.

Interesting the par and SSS are the same, so it could be the ideal course to bring your handicap down! Good luck!

nice little course, but I think the SSS is flattering

Nice little clubhouse, very welcoming staff from pro shop to the bar staff
used the practice green, and assumed it couldn't be the same as the course, but it was. And that was v slow and still recovering from being worked on. some drive-able par 4's, but some well placed bunkers protecting the fairways off of the tees. Some good elevation changes too, with some decent scenery to enjoy
Second time here, and despite the greens, would always enjoy walking around in good company as I did again on this visit.

Thanks for suffering me out there lady and gents at this very strained time

Nice little course....

Had the pleasure of playing here on one of Mark Crane's golf day and had a great time!

To be fair, I wasn't expecting much as it was described as a 'council' course and yet on arrival, I was pleasantly surprised....

What I liked about the course was that nearly every hole is different. Some nice Par 3's and some testing Par 4's.

The fairways undulate but you're never out of breath and the greens are true and all tee boxes were well maintained.

The only downside is there are places on the course that are quite close to the M20 motorway but this doesn't spoil the fun.

A smallish clubhouse with friendly staff and good food.

Would be happy to recommend to anyone looking for a pretty and testing course.

Not good. Cheap, but bad condition.

Played on a very cold day end of Jan. ALL holes had mats, not good mats either. Fairways were fair, as were greens. Bunkers had frozen water in them. Off fairways etc it was wet...VERY. This is a short ok course in summer, but bad in winter. Also now have a trolley hedgehog wheel only policy. They couldn't give a reasonable reason why in the clubhouse.

Very well kept parkland course

Cobtree is tight, the fairways are very narrow. You are punished by the rough under the trees which I think is very harsh. We spent a lot of time looking for balls, being in the trees is punishment enough but the tight fairways are hard to hold.
That said the greens run true, bunkers in very good order.
A short but demanding little course. I would love to play it again, probably leaving my driver at home.
Club house is good, good food for a fair price.
Well worth a visit, 2 minutes off the M20!

Enjoyable Course

This is a parkland par 69 course comprising 13 par 4s and only 1 par 5. Three of the par 4s are over 430 yards and therefore GIRs difficult for the medium to high handicappers. Good scoring is very dependent on hitting most fairways as the rough is very penal; drives that are off-line will require the taking of provisional balls.

The greens are large and undulating; requiring precise judgement of line and pace.

The negative aspect of the course is that the fairways were not cut short enough to enable balls to run distances that one would expect at a members club. In fact such grass cutting operations that were observed were in areas of the course which should not generally be in play. Atypical of a pay & play type course which applies minimum resources to course maintenance! This could be so much better.

Hospitality generally was good.

Cobtree in excellent condition

Course in excellent condtion, has been carefully managed over the winter. New owners making a good effort . Must be the cheapest 18 holes in Kent if registered. ( £10 for a senior ). Sometimes tee times are booked too close together.

Nice little course

Have played a few times as it's a nice, fairly easy, course. Not particulary challenging, so I wouldn't recommend it for the more experienced players but the clubhouse is good and the course is easy enough for the beginner and challenging enough for 18 handicappers (so I like it!)
