In 1788 Lord Loughborough purchased the original house and later commissioned the renowned landscape designer, Humphry Repton, to improve the surrounding landscape. In 1987 Rudding Park House was opened as a conference and banqueting centre. The 18 hole golf course was opened in 1995, a development which was followed two years later by a 50 bedroom Hotel adjoining the House, making Rudding Park Yorkshire’s premier hotel and golf resort. Rudding Park’s mature parkland provides a stunning setting for one of Britain’s most popular sports. Tree lined fairways and other natural hazards ensure a challenging game of golf. The Martin Hawtree designed Rudding Park 18 hole, 6883 golf course blends with the magnificent surroundings of the 19th century parkland. In the heart of this 300 acre estate, the championship course runs through the mature parkland that was originally laid out by famous landscape designer, Humphry Repton. Whilst Rudding Park Golf has Members, equally visitors are welcome to play on a pay-as-you play basis. Corporate and Society days are also made very welcome – as well as the challenging golf they can benefit from the luxury of Rudding Park hotel for their awards ceremonies and overnight accommodation.
