New owner/Managenent

A short update:

Sunningdale Heath has changed hands in the last 6 months or so.

Lots of improvements are being made and lots more to come .

Members seem happy with the new situation and 72 new members have joined since the change ! Can’t be bad.

All Visitors play from a forward tee, Green, Men/Ladies. No scorecards yet with the new yardage. I expect it will be part of the new slope system !!!! So for the handicap “vigilantes” don’t expect any recorded scores ! Anyhow, the Course is too short to count towards TSG handicap system.

A very beautiful & challenging short course that will test your golf skills.

Our host, Dave G., is a member there, and happily shares his knowledge . Than you for that .

The Clubhouse/Bar was open under the COVID-19 requirements, outside seating overlooking the practice Green.

Local honey (from Sunningdale bees) was available @ £7.00 a jar.

It looks like the Ladies changing rooms have been totally revamped , in a very smart , modern style , with lovely pale but warm colours ! Don’t know about the Men’s.

Oh! and the heathers are started to display their beautiful pink colours, so pretty , no wonder the honey taste so good !

THE END of an update ......

A true treasure.... not to be misssed

Sunningdale Heath (formerly Sunningdale Ladies) is a very ancient course that is short but has everything on offer to challenge all golfers, up and down, dog legs, lovely shaped greens, the views in the Autumn colours are stunning, the holes all very different, long hitters wont need a driver but accuracy is a must, the bunkers are deep and always attracting one's attention, some had water in them, the course was wet in places as the previous day and night rain fell in abondance. There are streams in some places, I think I lost 2 balls on holes 4 (index 1).

I think the signature hole was the beautiful 13th hole, short Par 4, greens is uphill surrounded by colourful trees, bunker protection, just stunning.

One crosses a private road several times and attractive properties will make you dream, only a few millions....

A very friendly and small clubhouse where local honey from heathers can be purchased for £7 only (a must).

I had wanted to play this course for years and finally managed to join Dave who is a member, we had a very pleasant round, with tiny little showers just to annoy.

I do recommend playing the course, even if very short, it will test your skills, try and Par all of the holes....

Warm reception in Clubhouse.

Practice green by the Clubhouse and a net for driving/irons practice.

Car park specifically for Visitors

Will return but probably in the Spring or Summer.

The END.

Lovely setting

Previously Sunningdale Ladies and now Sunningdale Heath, this is a short course of fourteen par 3's and four par 4's. With lots of small greens, tricky bunkers, lots of trees, and no holes shorter than 138 yards, there aren't a huge number of simple pars. There aren't that many difficult bogies either though, so along with the lovely setting it's a course that you can't fail to enjoy.

The clubhouse isn't the biggest, and the practise facilities are a net and a putting green, but if you can get a good deal here then this is totally worth a visit.
