DESCRIPTION:

Ridgewood Lakes Golf & Country Club opened in 1994.

TheTed McAnlis designed course was laid out across lush rolling ranch land itoffers wide fairways but includes nuerous water hazards andstrategically placed bunkers to add challenge on every hole.

The course is generally very well maintained and the 'Champions turf' greens are considered to be some of the best in the Orlando area.

Home to several Orlando area professional golf tour events the Ridgewood Lakes course was designed toprovide challenge to low handicap golfers without unduly penalising golfers of less ability (there are four sets of tees and only one hole has a forced carry over water with all othersoffering 'bail-out' areas).

The course is golf buggy only (no walking).

Visitors are always welcome, contact club to make arrangements.

In need of some TLC

The course itself has some interesting holes on it, but the most obvious thing about it on the day I played there was the condition of the tees and greens. The tees were very patchy, while the greens were covered in weeds. To be fair, the greens rolled reasonably smoothly, but they don't look good.

Unsurprisingly, given the name, there is a lot of water in play on this course, with the back 9 being a little more in play than on the front.

Would I play here again? If the condition of the tees and greens improved then this would be a very good course, but otherwise I'd likely find somewhere else to play.

Ridgewood Lakes

Played here in May 2010 and can't wait to get back again.
Very challenging course you have to think your way around. Stay on the fairways and out of the rough here if you want to score well, otherwise you'll rack up some high numbers.
All the green were recently relaid so no excuses for any three putts.
