Virginia Beach National opened inMay 1999to be acclaimed asthe premier public golf club in the Tidewater Area.
Originallythe TPC Virgina Beach the course was designed by Pete Dye with PGA Tour player Curtis Strange acting as Players Consultant.
The result is a Par 72, championship length course which blends natural grasses, waste areas, stategically placed bunkers and water hazards, wide rolling fairways and tour quality greens to create a masterful golf course.
At over 7,200 yards in the length (from the back tees) the course can challenge even the bestgolfers but, some would say unusally for a Pete Dye course, the clever use of five sets of tee on every hole mean the course can also be enjoyed by the less able golfer.
The coursehas fairways of bermuda grass and greens of bent grass.
